Official Methods of AnalysisSM (OMA) - 2018 Method Submission Deadlines

The Official Methods of AnalysisSM(OMA) program is AOAC INTERNATIONAL's premier methods program. The AOAC Research Institute now administers the AOAC Official Methods of AnalysisSM program for all proprietary, single and sole source methods. All methods in the AOAC Official Methods of AnalysisSM program are now reviewed by Expert Review Panels for First Action AOAC Official MethodsSM status.

Please review the AOAC OMA Program Steps  and application checklist below prior to submitting an online application.  Review and verify that your application is complete and includes all required documentation and acknowledgment of the application fees.  For all inquiries regarding new, modified or potential method applications, please contact La’Kia Phillips at  All initial documentation may be submitted through the online application.

1. Application for Method Submission


The following documents must be uploaded into the online application. In addition, please note
that the manuscript must include the method and the method must also be uploaded as a
separate document.
  • Method Manuscript in AOAC Format (AOAC Style Guide)
  • Method Safety Checklist
  • Collaborative Study Protocol
  • Package Insert
  • Additional Supplemental Documentation

2. Application Processing:
      1. Submit your application online via the AOAC Research Institute website.
      2. Submit a complete application with all supporting documentation.
      3. Upon receipt of your completed application, AOAC Research Institute will send an invoice for the application fee. All applications may take a minimum of 2-3 business days to process.
      4. Ensure that payment remittance for application fees are received by the submission deadline date. View the AOAC Research Institute Fee Schedule.
