Inés Cereijo AOAC TDRM Student Award Announcement
It’s that time of year again! Undergraduates interested in competing for the Inés Cereijo AOAC Technical Division on Reference Materials (TDRM) Student Award must submit an application no later than December 31, 2009. Award requirements (along with an application), can be found on the AOAC Web site at http://www.aoac.org/divisions/tdrm.html.
The award was established to encourage students at the college level to incorporate more rigorous method performance evaluation as part of their education and research. In recognizing students’ achievements, TDRM hopes to introduce critical thinking early on in a chemist’s career.
The winner is chosen based on a report that evaluates either use of a reference material for method performance evaluation or development of a new reference material. The student whose report receives the highest score through the evaluation process will receive a $500 cash award and a 1-year membership in AOAC and the TDRM. Award recipients who attend that year’s AOAC Annual Meeting will receive a $250 travel grant. In addition, the registration fee and up to $500 in hotel expenses will be paid.
