Steering Group Establishes Biothreat Detection Meeting Agenda
A steering group, chaired by David Ladd of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, Department of Fire Services, established an agenda for AOAC’s ‘town hall’ meeting of the biothreat detection community stakeholders, which is scheduled for September 12, 2008, in Rockville, Maryland. At this time, AOAC will bring together 200 key decision makers from emergency responder and public health groups, government, and private industry technology providers in an effort to shape the future of the Stakeholders Panel on Agent Detection Assay (SPADA). The town hall-style meeting will provide a forum for discussion from many interested parties in a moderated venue. Driving discussions will be articles of warrant addressing issues relevant to the community, as agreed upon by the steering group, and which will be voted. The formal recommendations resulting from the outcome of the meeting will be submitted to the Department of Homeland Security.
