WILLIAM HORWITZ AWARD
AOAC INTERNATIONAL's most prestigious Association award, the William Horwitz
Award, was established in 1995 to honor the extraordinary contributions
to AOAC INTERNATIONAL made by William Horwitz, and to continue to
honor those individuals who show extreme dedication and commitment
to the Association. Today's Association is largely a product of
Dr. Horwitz's lifelong commitment and untiring work in the scientific,
administrative, and political arenas on behalf of AOAC. The award
is not an annual award, and will be presented only when a truly
qualified candidate is identified.
Recipients of the William Horwitz Award receive:
Complimentary lifetime membership in AOAC INTERNATIONAL;
A plaque presented at the Annual Meeting; and
Expenses incident to attending the Annual Meeting at which the
award is presented.
Nominations for the Award:
Any Member may submit a nomination, which must include a detailed
written description of the nominee's significant contributions
to AOAC INTERNATIONAL. The nomination must be endorsed by at least
25 Members of AOAC. Of this number, at least one must be from
each of the Sections of AOAC. Nominations are accepted on an on-going
basis. Nomination forms are available from the AOAC INTERNATIONAL
office.
The Selection Process:
The AOAC INTERNATIONAL Board of Directors reviews nominations
and selects recipients for the award by unanimous vote.
