Method Validation Options

There are several options for validating a method:

The Official Methods of Analysis^sm collaborative study, the most rigorous validation procedure that leads to internationally-recognized acceptance.
Single-Laboratory Validation, where tests are conducted within one organization. If methods are not to be used outside a company, this is a faster approach to validation. It is also a good first step toward an Official Method of Analysis validation.
Performance-Tested Methods^sm , a special validation procedure for proprietary commercial methods, usually a test kit. Performance testing is doneby independent labs to demonstrate that the kit performs to specifications.
