DISCUSSION FORUM RULES
By participating in AOAC INTERNATIONAL’s discussion forums, you agree that you have read and will follow the rules and guidelines set for participants in the forums. You also agree to reserve the community discussions for topics related to the community. More general discussion forums related to member interests can be found under AOAC Members Community.
As with any public on-line discussion forums, there are guidelines governing behavior on the AOAC forums. Violating antitrust regulations, libeling others, selling, and marketing are not permissible. We encourage you to acquaint yourself with these important guidelines. If you have questions, contact the webtech@aoac.org. AOAC reserves the right to suspend or terminate access rights to the AOAC discussion forums for members who violate these rules.
- You may not challenge or attack others. The discussions in the forums are meant to stimulate thought and come to community consensus on issues, not to create contention.
- Do not try to sell or promote your commercial products.
- Use caution when discussing other company products. Information posted in the forums is available for all members to see, and comments are subject to libel, slander, and antitrust laws
- It is prohibited to use any defamatory, abusive, profane, threatening, offensive, or illegal materials or language.
- Do not post any message that you would not want the world to see or that you would not want anyone to know came from you. Remember, your name and e-mail address are posted with your message and that message may be reproduced and further disseminated.
- Messages posted to a forum must be appropriate to the community topic.

INSTRUCTIONS
Subscribing to AOAC Communities
- Click on Select Preferences on the right to subscribe or unsubscribe to a community. By subscribing, you can choose to receive e-mail notification of new postings in a specific community. Just click on Preferences, and choose how often you would like
to be notified of News or Forum postings in a specific community. Global preferences can be used to set e-mail notification settings for all subscribed communities. Scroll to the bottom of the Select Preferences page and select your preferences for all subscribed communities.
- To view all Forums in a Community, click on the community title, then on the forum of interest. You will then see all the topics listed under the forum. You can reply to a topical comment, create a new topic or edit and delete your own comments as indicated by the buttons above each comment.
- AOAC has created an AOAC Members community for AOAC members to start forums and discuss topic of interest to the membership. To create a Discussion Forum under the AOAC Members Community, contact webtech@aoac.org.
- To create a new topic, click on a Forum title of interest, and click on Create New Topic on the right to start a new topic. Fill out the Subject line and type in your message in the message box.
- To view documents posted in a community, click on View all Files and Folders under the Files and Folders area on the lower right.
- Once you’ve read and are finished reading the discussion items or files and folders, you can mark them as read by clicking the mark as read button.
Things to Note
- You will not be able to attach document on the forums. Only the Administrator of a Community will be able to create folders and post documents. This restriction is enforced to prevent viruses from infiltrating the forums. To create a folder or attach files relevant to the communities’ topic, contact webtech@aoac.org or your community Administrator.
