The goals of AOAC's Technical Divisions are to improve the overall quality of laboratory operations and to foster harmonization of laboratory procedures and systems. The Technical Division for Laboratory Management was formed to help laboratory managers improve the operations of their laboratories through the exchange of ideas and though professional development activities. The Technical Division on Reference Materials improves the use of reference materials. Both divisions benefit analytical scientists working in areas requiring a high level of quality assurance.

Improving and maintaining laboratory quality is a cornerstone of AOAC's mission.
