Regarding Accommodations and Minor Change in Venue Dear Colleagues: We are going to make a small change in the conference location from the University of Vigo to a hotel in the Baiona/Vigo area, the Talaso Atlantico. Although the University has excellent conference facilities and is still our major sponsor (co-sponsors are AOAC International, AOAC Research Institute, and AOAC Europe) it was decided that the University, with its hilltop location, might be too isolated. Talaso Atlantico, the new site of the meeting, is a high quality hotel with very impressive conference facilities and ocean view. The onsite hotel is offering special rates for conference attendees: A single room is 67 Euros and a double room is 97 Euros (in US dollars this is currently approx. $100 and $129). The hotel will quickly fill up at these rates, and other hotels are available in Baiona itself. If those other Baiona hotels are full or not to your liking, then nearby is Vigo. Vigo is a major city in Galicia with several major hotels (Baiona is smaller and more convenient for the meeting). Courtesy vans will be available to help with transportation between the conference site (near Baiona along the rugged coast) and the historic town of Baiona, and also to demonstrations at the University of Vigo on the last day of the conference.
