Lawrence Method Official Now As of early morning Jun 9, 2005, the LC method of Lawrence et al we reviewed last year was approved by AOAC for Official First Action. This is the first AOAC (read that officially) approved alternative to mouse bioassay for PSP testing in 50 years! I know that all of you join me in congratulating Jim Lawrence. Congratulations are due also to those of you who played important roles in this long effort of method development, refinement, training, participation in the interlaboratory study, and finally, review! Review, including the crucial fit-for-purpose aspect also included our Task Force and we can be proud of this. I also want to thank AOAC for approving creation of the group, and agreeing to waive methods fees for this Task Force- selected nonproprietary method. I hope you enjoyed your brief rest while reading this because now we have to get moving and continue our little mission together!
