Introducing Dr Leigh Lehane Online Forum Technical Editor for the Marine and Freshwater Toxins Task Force
It is my pleasure to introduce to the Task Force Leigh Lehane, a PhD Toxicologist and Pathologist. Dr Lehane has kindly accepted my invitation to be our Online Forum Technical Editor after having recently retired from the Australian Commonwealth Government Department of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Forestry. She has also worked for the Australian Dept. of Health as a toxicologist/drug evaluator and served as senior copy editor for Jacaranda Wiley and a science writer for CSIRO. I first approached Dr Lehane after discovering her excellent reviews on Ciguatera, PSP, and Scombroid Poisoning on the Internet. Recognizing her writing skills and knowledge of our subjects I asked her to help us deal with the important task of capturing all the valuable exchanges, collaboration, consensus, etc. of our Task Force online forums. She will work with me and also the subgroup chairs to organize together the contents of our discussion threads, uploaded information, etc. into reports. After we have solicited comments from the other participants we will finalize these reports and use them as resources in the Task Force. I feel that this is a very important task and I express my deep thanks to Dr Lehane in volunteering for this endeavor, for joining our Task Force, and for joining AOAC. Please join me in welcoming Dr. Lehane to the Task Force.
