Official Methods Board Training Session
1:00 pm – 4:00 pm

The Official Methods Process has recently evolved into a more transparent and efficient process. The Official Method Board (OMB) is holding a session to educate the Association membership on the new process and the new roles for the supporting volunteers. Areas to be covered include the Harmonized SLV/Collaborative process, the roles of Study directors, and the formation of the new Method Centric Committees. Members of the OMB will also be available for discussion during and after the session. This session will also be offered on Monday, September 14, 2009.

Exhibit Hall Grand Opening Reception
6:30 pm – 8:00 pm

All Annual Meeting attendees and their registered guests are invited to the Grand Opening of the Exhibit Hall. This reception is always well-attended and provides an excellent opportunity to network with your colleagues and meet with representatives from the exhibiting organizations in a fun, relaxing environment.

President’s Welcome Reception and 125th Anniversary Celebration (Co-Sponsored by Covance Laboratories, Inc.)
8:00 pm – 10:00 pm

Join AOAC INTERNATIONAL President, Darryl Sullivan, as he welcomes attendees to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and the 123rd AOAC Annual Meeting & Exposition. Enjoy the company of your peers and friends for light hors d’ouevres and cocktails to celebrate AOAC’s 125th anniversary. You won’t want to miss this gala event – bring the book that will be in your registration bag, The Great Collaboration: 25 Years of Change and have the author, AOAC’s own, Dr. Albert E. Pohland sign it. This event is included in all Meeting attendees and guest registrations. Business or semi-formal attire is suggested.

AOAC INTERNATIONAL President, Darryl Sullivan, will present awards to individuals who have contributed to the analytical science community and to AOAC itself. Awards being presented include the prestigious Harvey W. Wiley Award and Wiley Scholarship, Fellows of AOAC, technical awards, and member service awards for those who have achieved the milestone anniversaries of 5-, 10-, and 25-years of membership in the Association.

We are honored to have John Marugg, Ph.D., QS/Microbiological Safety from the Nestlé Research Center presenting the Keynote Address on validation requirements as an international end user of rapid methods with examples of current food safety issues that are occurring in the U.S. and around the world.
