With four levels of support to choose from—ranging from the Sustainer level (US$750 annually) to the Partner level (US$5,000 annually)—Sustaining Member Organizations provide financial support for AOAC INTERNATIONAL programs and services, in return for a specific package of benefits. SMOs support analytical methods validation programs, which provide expert, objective third-party oversight in the development and validation of methods while ensuring the scientific integrity of the resulting methods. Sustaining Membership is also an investment in laboratory quality—including the development of laboratory accreditation guidelines and the professional development of scientists.

Through this program, information flows from AOAC to the participating organization via the various benefits afforded by their membership—such as a complimentary Journal subscription, technical division memberships for representatives, the latest edition of the Official Methods of Analysis of AOAC INTERNATIONAL (OMA), etc.—depending on their level of support.
