Peer Verified Programs
PVM methods The AOAC® Peer-Verified
MethodsSM Program is intended to provide a class
of tested methods which have not been the subject of a full collaborative
study. Through a less intensive process, the program provides a
rapid entry point for methods, which are recognized by AOAC at a
level of validation for methods not otherwise evaluated. The distinguishing
aspect of an AOAC Peer-Verified MethodSM is that its performance
has been checked in at least one other, independent laboratory.
Eventually, it is expected that most PVMs will undergo full interlaboratory
collaborative studies and obtain Official MethodSM status.
The Peer-Verified Methods process is fully open. Any interested
party may submit a procedure for AOAC acceptance, and may submit
comments on published procedures. All methods and Procedures must
be Non-Proprietary. Submissions, queries, and comments should be
sent to AOAC INTERNATIONAL, Peer-Verified Methods Program,
