AOAC Midyear Meeting Preview, March 2017

Don’t miss the AOAC INTERNATIONAL Midyear Meeting, March 13-17, 2017, in Gaithersburg, Maryland, USA, where AOAC stakeholders will have a voice in setting standards and finding the best methods that are globally recognized and accepted.

Preliminary activities of the 2017 AOAC Midyear Meeting include (tentative and subject to change):

* Review of draft Standard Method Performance Requirements (SMPRs®) for free amino acids, ginger, and vitamins K1 and K2 in dietary supplements; aloe vera and vitamin D in dietary supplements (revisions); proanthocyanidins in cranberry products; cannabis potency; carotenoids and folate in infant formula (revisions)

* Review of candidate methods for amino acids, fluoride, and vitamin B3 in infant formula; food allergens by mass spectrometry; metals in fertilizer

* Drafting of SMPRs for food allergens (eggs)

* Introduction of standards development activities for echinacea, ginseng, and SAMe in dietary supplements; gluten in oats; cannabis in foods; bisphenol A (BPA) in beverages and water
