Dr. Zhihao Liu is currently a research chemist at the USDA-ARS Beltsville Human Nutrition Research Center, where he previously served as a postdoctoral associate. Prior to this, he held a postdoctoral associate position at the Department of Pharmacy Practice, University of Illinois at Chicago. He has extensive experience in food chemistry, metabolomics, and pharmacological research, with particular expertise in: Developing metabolomic platforms for analyzing dietary supplements and botanicals, Food and botanical identification methods using chemometric approaches, Drug metabolism and pharmacokinetics (DMPK), Analytical chemistry techniques, especially mass spectrometry. His academic background includes a Ph.D. in pharmacology from Peking Union Medical College and previous positions as associate and assistant professor at Dalian Medical University in China. Dr. Liu has a strong publication record with over 110 peer-reviewed papers and has received several notable honors, including being named among the “Top 1% reviewers” in pharmacology and toxicology. He also serves as an associate editor for Frontiers in Pharmacology and has led multiple research topics and grants. Dr. Liu’s work combines expertise in analytical chemistry, nutrition research, and pharmacology, with a focus on understanding how dietary components and pharmaceuticals interact with biological systems. His current research emphasizes the development of analytical methods for evaluating dietary supplements and food components.
