Individual Membership FAQs

How long does it take to activate my membership, including access to OMA online?

If you join or renew online, your account will be activated by close of business on the next business day. If you join by phone or mail, activation can take up to five business days.

Is the Journal of AOAC INTERNATIONAL (print or online) included with my membership?

No. The Journal of AOAC INTERNATIONAL is not included with membership. However, if you join as a member you will receive discounted member pricing on your subscription.

Is my membership transferable?

Individual Memberships are non-transferable and are held in the individuals name, not the organization they work for. Please view individual membership terms and conditions.

Do I need a membership to access OMA online?

Yes, a paid membership or subscription is required to access OMA online.

Can I renew my membership for multiple years?

Yes, you can. Please contact AOAC Customer Service and we will be happy to handle this for you. At this time you do not have the option online.

When will I receive my welcome membership packet and membership card?

You will receive your membership packet along with your membership card in approximately 3–4 weeks.

Organizational Affiliates

What is the Primary Organizational Affiliate (OA) Representative?

The primary OA Representative is the primary contact for your Organizational Affiliate membership. This person is responsible for:

  • renewals (receiving and submitting for payment)
  • works with their designated AOAC team member to make additions and changes to your OA roster
  • communicates pertinent information to your OA representatives and OMA online licensees, if necessary
  • primary contact for all AOAC communications regarding your OA membership

What is the OA Roster?

The OA Roster is a list of your individual member representatives and non-member OMA online license holders.

How can I make changes to my OA Roster?

You can make changes to your OA Roster at any time via the online form. If you plan a complete review with major changes to your roster, the preferred time is when your organization is up for renewal.

Use the OA Individual Member Representative and/or Non-Member OMA Online License Add/Change Request Form located on this page under “Resources”. Fill in the form and click submit. Your designated AOAC team member will make the changes and will email you a confirmation when completed.


Sustaining Member Organization

What is the Sustaining Member Organization (SMO) Primary Representative?

The primary SMO Representative is the primary contact for your organizational membership. This person is responsible for:

  • renewals (receiving and submitting for payment)
  • works with their designated AOAC team member to make additions and changes to your SMO roster
  • communicates pertinent information to your SMO representatives and OMA online licensees, if necessary
  • primary contact for all AOAC communications regarding your SMO membership

The SMO Roster is a list of your individual member representatives and non-member OMA online license holders.

How can I make changes to my SMO Roster?

You can make changes to your SMO Roster at any time using the SMO Information Form. If you plan a complete review with major changes to your roster, the preferred time is when your organization is up for renewal.

Use the SMO Information Form located on this page under “Resources”. Fill in the form and click submit. Your designated AOAC team member will make the changes and will email you a confirmation when completed.
