AOAC INTERNATIONAL (AOAC) is recruiting volunteer subject matter experts in the analysis of seaweed and cattle feed for compounds such as bromoform for the AOAC Reviewed & RecognizedSM (R2) program, administered by the AOAC Research Institute (AOAC RI). Volunteer subject matter experts will assist in the development of validation protocols for methods and conduct reviews of validation reports for candidate methods submitted for certification in the R2 program. Participation in this program is an opportunity to participate and lend your expertise and experience to the AOAC RI and R2 program in evaluating methods. If you are a subject matter expert and are interested in volunteering in this AOAC methods program, please complete the application below.

Current Scope of the AOAC R2 Program

This is a new program within AOAC, administered by the AOAC RI, and is designed for the validation and evaluation of application notes from technology providers. Learn more >

Eligibility

All applications will be vetted by the AOAC RI and vetting may be conducted by the AOAC Official Methods Board who will vet the candidates for the AOAC Official MethodsSM program. Ideal candidates must:

  1. Submit an application including brief statement of experience and a two-page CV or resume
  2. Have experience and/or expertise in at least one of the following, but not limited to:
    • Analysis of seaweed and potential toxins in seaweed such as bromoform
    • Analysis of cattle feed for bromoform
    • Methodology used for evaluating bromoform, seaweed and cattle feed
    • Understanding of current science and research on bromoform and its introduction into animal feedstuffs and/or seaweed
  3. Must participate in program orientation and training.
