Serving on an AOAC Expert Review Panel or Working Group is a unique opportunity to work closely with top experts in your field, expand your visibility, and contribute your unique experience to advance important analytical science standards and methods for food safety.

AOAC is currently seeking volunteers to share their expertise as part of two groups now forming: a Working Group on Rosins and an Expert Review Panel for Water Activity Methods.

Working Group on Rosins

This new working group will review methods for analysis of glycerol esters of wood rosins (GEWR) and will include volunteers with expertise in some or all of the following subject matter areas:

  • Analysis of GEWR or rosins
  • Regulations or Rules pertaining to GEWR or rosins
  • Development or Use of GEWR or rosins
  • Analytical Techniques used to evaluate rosins
  • JECFA discussions and EFSA recommendations on rosins
  • Rosins and Pine Species
  • Research on Rosins
  • Rosin Chemistry

Expert Review Panel for water activity methods

An individual sole source method has been submitted for the evaluation of a method with a purported applicability of measuring water activity in food, feed, chemical, or pharmaceutical product. To evaluate this method, AOAC is forming a new Expert Review Panel composed of volunteers with expertise in some or all of the following subject matter areas:

  • Analysis of water activity in food or feed
  • Analytical chemistry methodology for analysis of foods, pharmaceuticals, and chemical
    products
  • Analytical method development for water activity
  • Analytical method validation
  • Current research on measurement of water activity
  • Varying analytical techniques related to measurement of water activity
  • Food Science
