AOAC INTERNATIONAL is saddened to share that Dr. Albert Edgar Pohland, (89) of Laurel, MD, passed away on January 28, 2025. Pohland held a PhD in chemistry and retired from the Food and Drug Administration where he was a chemist for 35 years. He had been a member of AOAC since 1965, a Fellow in 1995, president in 1999, and worked for 10 years at AOAC as the chief scientific officer of chemistry.
