Technical Division membership is a unique vehicle for making the AOAC your association and for tailoring programs and activities to meet your particular professional concerns.

AOAC’s Technical Divisions provide a forum for networking and collaboration within two key areas, Laboratory Management and Reference Materials. To join a Technical Division, you must have a current Individual, Student, or Organizational AOAC membership and pay an additional small fee.

Technical Division for Laboratory Management (TDLM)

The Technical Division for Laboratory Management (TDLM) was formed in 1997 to help laboratory managers improve the operations of their laboratories through the exchange of ideas and professional development activities. With the increasing focus on how the total environment of an analytical laboratory impacts the quality of analytical measurements produced in that laboratory, TDLM supports the AOAC mission of promoting methods validation and quality measurements. Joining this Technical Division will allow you to network, share information, and problem solve on issues related to managing an efficient, high-quality analytical laboratory, as well as critical issues like laboratory accreditation. Technical Division on Reference Materials (TDRM)

The Technical Division on Reference Materials (TDRM) improves the use of reference materials that benefit analytical scientists working in areas requiring a high level of quality assurance. TDRM was created in 1993 to support the AOAC mission of promoting methods validation and quality measurements. Joining this Technical Division gives you access to an international network of analytical professionals who share interest in verifying the accuracy of analytical measurements through effective use of reference materials. TDRM will help you stay informed about current practices and changes in accreditation requirements on the use of reference materials. Learn more >
