AOAC INTERNATIONAL (represented by Katerina Mastovska, Erik Konings, and David Mangan) attended the 44th Session of the Codex Committee on Nutrition and Foods for Special Dietary Uses (#CCNFSDU44) in Dresden, Germany on October 2-6, 2024.
CCNFSDU44 discussed two AOAC’s proposals and agreed to request the Codex Committee on Methods of Analysis and Sampling (CCMAS) to:
- Endorse AOAC 2022.01 as Type I for the determination of insoluble and soluble dietary fibers and revoke AOAC 2011.25 for the same provision (a joint proposal by AOAC, AACC & ICC).
- Endorse 20 AOAC methods for the determination of nutrients in follow-up formula (CXS 156-1987, Section A), which were previously adopted by Codex for infant formula (a joint proposal by AOAC, ISO & IDF).
