The AOAC Stakeholder Program on Agent Detection Assays (SPADA) Working Group (WG) II, Developing NGS Standards for Biothreat Detection Methods, recently posted their document for public comment and none were received.  Therefore, the draft standard entitled Amplicon Sequencing Minimal Information (AsqMI): Quality and Reporting Guidelines for Actionable Calls in Biodefense Applications is now ready for consensus by the SPADA community and all who have a material interest in this work.

Consensus Process

Community consensus voting on the draft standard.  The mechanism determine for consensus on this document is via an electronic ballot that is accessible below.  The deadline for ballot returns is Wednesday, December 21, 2022, at 9:00 PM ET.   Ballots will be reviewed, and results will be announced.  The ballot does allow for comments to be submitted.  Any substantial comments received will prompt a response by AOAC.  Access to the draft standard and the electronic ballot is below
