AOAC INTERNATIONAL (AOAC) is recruiting volunteer subject matter experts with experience and expertise in applied statistics and informatics to serve on its Committee on Statistics. Members of the AOAC Committee on Statistics are approved and recommended for appointment by the AOAC Official Methods Board. Members are appointed by the President of AOAC. Participation in the Committee is as a volunteer who can participate in AOAC Science Programs developing standards, reviewing method data sets in AOAC method programs, assisting in developing validation and verification study designs, addressing related inquiries, and more.

SCOPE OF THE COMMITTEE ON STATISTICS

The AOAC Committee on Statistics serves in a key role to ensure the integrity of study designs and the analysis of data from validation studies. The Committee on Statistics provides advice and consent on all usage or changes to statistical methodology used in AOAC studies or in the interpretation of results. The Committee reports to the AOAC Official Method Board (OMB). Recently, AOAC recently developed consensus studies for sequencing application which has evolved the need to include broader expertise.

ELIGIBILITY

All applications will be vetted by the AOAC Official Methods Board. Ideal candidates must:

  1. Submit an application including brief statement of expertise and a two (2) page CV or resume; and
  2. Have experience and/or expertise in at least one of the following, but not limited to:
    a. Qualitative and/or quantitative statistical analysis of method validation or verification data packages;
    b. Qualitative and Quantitative study design experimental development:
    c. Bioinformatics and algorithms used in omics method applications, study designs, and data analysis;
    d. Familiarity with relevant software packages and tools; and
    e. Familiarity with AOAC, ISO 5725, and/or calculations appropriate for method analysis such as LOD, LOQ, POD, %RSDr, %RSDR, recovery, etc….
