In response to customer and stakeholder feedback, the AOAC Laboratory Proficiency Testing (PT) Program has developed a new PT program to cover environmental surface testing.
The Listeria Environmental Swab PT (LS01) program allows participating laboratories to report the presence or absence of Listeria and report the species identification, if applicable to the laboratory. The sample set comes with four Swabs (some inoculated and some uninoculated-Controls). Along with laboratories that use this for accreditation, training, and/or internal use, it is a popular program with GFSI (SQF, FSSC 22000, BRC…) certified laboratories. The next round ships on September 26, 2022.
AOAC has resumed the Salmonella in Liquid Egg PT Program (E01). The AOAC Salmonella in Liquid Egg PT Program is not affiliated with the USDA accreditation program in any way. This AOAC PT program permits participating laboratories to report the presence or absence of Salmonella and report the O and H antigens, and species identification, if applicable to the laboratory. The AOAC E01 program is an independent proficiency testing program used by labs wanting to meet accreditation or certification requirements and/or training purposes. The AOAC E01 program is in the AOAC scope of accreditation to ISO 17043. The next round ships on September 19, 2022.
