April Schumacher is a Global Scientific Affairs Specialist at Neogen® where she provides regulatory leadership, manages product validations, and collaborates with industry and regulatory stakeholders to revise and create standards. She has gained extensive experience in test method design, validation and standard harmonization through her positions in quality assurance, product engineering, regulatory affairs and validation. April is a member of the AOAC INTERNATIONAL Official Methods Board, Research Institute (RI) Advisory Council, RI Modification Task Force, gluten and food allergens working groups, CASP advisory council, and the microbiology and food allergens communities. She is also a member of a joint task group for Standard Methods for the Examination of Water and Wastewater, as well as several ISO TC34 (Food) / SC9 (Microbiology) working groups. April has a B.S. in Bacteriology from the University of Wisconsin – Madison and a Ph.D. in Molecular Biology from the University of Minnesota – Twin Cities.
