The OMB Mission

According to AOAC’s Bylaws, the Board of Directors (BOD) is empowered to develop written policies and procedures for the study, adoption, and change in status of the Official Methods of Analysis of AOAC INTERNATIONAL. Implementation of these policies and procedures is delegated to an Official Methods Board (OMB). The OMB serves the Association in a scientific and advisory capacity on methods and the process of their adoption. It is also responsible for implementation of procedures adopted by the BOD in accordance with the Bylaws with the OMB’s full scope of responsibilities delineated in the BOD approved Terms of Reference for the OMB.

The mission of the OMB is to serve the Association in a scientific and advisory capacity to foster the highest standards of scientific integrity and to maintain and advance the Association’s reputation as a globally leading source for scientific information in the areas of safety and integrity of foods and other products that impact public health.

The OMB has monthly meetings. For questions about the OMB, please contact staff liaison Deborah McKenzie.
