Analytical Solutions Forum Symposium

Thursday, March 17, 2022 | 10:30 AM – 12:00 noon ET

Per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) are a group of manufactured chemicals that have been used in industry and consumer products since the 1940s because of their useful properties. There are thousands of different PFAS, some of which have been more widely used and studied than others.

PFAS compounds provide a unique analytical challenge. It is imperative that trusted test methods be developed to detect all significant PFAS analogs and perform in a wide range of matrices to ensure accuracy in biosurveillance activities, the compilation of human exposure data, and to meet regulatory requires. This session will explore the challenges for analytical methods to detect and measure PFAS.

Speakers:

Dr. Barry Hooberman, Team Lead, Risk Analytics Staff, Office of Foods and Veterinary Medicine, U.S. FDA

Dr. Benjamin Place, Research Scientist, Organic Chemical Metrology Group at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST)

Dr. Stefan van Leeuwen, Senior Scientist, Wageningen University and Research
