AOAC Research Institute PTM Program Scope Expansion and R2 Program Elimination

On August 25, 2023, the AOAC Board of Directors approved revised policies and procedures of the AOAC Research Institute Performance Tested Methods^SM (PTM) program, which (effective immediately) expanded the PTM program scope to all user-based methods with a proprietary component, such as a test kit, equipment/device, column/cartridge, software etc. Consequently, another AOAC Research Institute program, Reviewed & Recognized^SM (R²) program, was eliminated because most of its scope is now covered by the expanded PTM program.
