The AOAC Research Institute team has developed a new certification program called the Installation and Operational Qualification (Q2) program. The AOAC INTERNATIONAL Board of Directors reviewed and approved the Q2 Policies and Procedures during the AOAC midyear meeting. The Q2 program is now accepting applications to the program.
The Q2 program will provide an independent third-party review of instrument manufacturer-provided technical documents, including performance criteria needed for analytical instrument system checklists and user manuals/supplemental documentation. Fundamental elements and processes for the Q2 program are based on the Good Automated Manufacturing Processes (GAMP-5) Engineering V-Model Instrument Design Processes and System-Build.
The new program will provide a higher level of confidence for laboratories purchasing and installing new analytical equipment. The Q2 program is complementary to the R2 program approved in 2021, and the long-standing Official Methods of AnalysisSM program. These programs are designed to provide a series of AOAC products to meet the needs of modern laboratories.
