The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) proposed a rule to revoke its methods of analysis regulation. The proposed rule relates to FDA enforcement programs when the method of analysis is not prescribed in a regulation. FDA suggests the regulation is “unnecessary” as the agency’s preferred methods of analysis may be identified in other FDA compliance and laboratory procedures resources. AOAC has submitted official comments to the agency on this proposed rule, which you may read here: https://www.regulations.gov/comment/FDA-2020-N-1383-0003.

Your help is needed to tell the FDA about the importance of methods of analysis regulation!  Please see the AOAC action alert with all the details.
