Official Methods Board Member

Dr. Jon W. Wong is a Research Chemist (2002-present) with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, Center for Food Safety and Applied Nutrition and was a Chemist with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms (1997-2002). He obtained B.S. degrees in Chemistry and Chemical Engineering and a Ph.D. in Agricultural and Environmental Chemistry from the University of California, Davis and a M.S. in Chemical Engineering from Purdue University. He is a member of the American Chemical Society and AOAC (AOAC Fellow, 2017) and a Board Member of the North American Chemical Residue Workshop (NACRW, formerly the Florida Pesticide Residue Workshop). 

Dr. Wong has been developing multiresidue procedures for the analysis of chemical residues and contaminants in food using gas or liquid chromatography coupled to mass spectrometry with particular interest in high resolution mass spectrometry workflows.
