Dr. Alaa Kamel is a chemist at the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) with experience in analytical chemistry, focusing on the analysis of chemical pollutants in food and the environment. He worked on the development and validation of analytical methods for several pesticide classes such as neonicotinoids and macrocyclic lactones as well as pesticide muti-residue, multi-class methods. Dr. Kamel gained experience in other scientific areas such as in natural products, microbiology, risk assessment and testing of endocrine disrupting chemicals. He worked with federal, state and the academia both nationally and internationally and has over 40 peer-reviewed publications. He is an active member in the American Chemical Society and serves as an expert peer reviewer in a number of renowned journals.
