Dr. Krzesimir Ciura is a graduate of the Faculty of Pharmacy at the Medical University of Gdańsk, where he earned his PhD in 2018 and DSc in 2021. He completed an internship as an experienced researcher at the Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology during the CompSafeNano project (EU Horizon 2020). Currently, he serves as an associate professor at the Medical University of Gdańsk and as a senior researcher at the University of Gdańsk under the PARC project (Partnership for the Assessment of Risks from Chemicals, EU Horizon 2020).
Dr. Ciura has authored over 60 research articles and reviews on toxicology, biopharmaceutical analysis, and medicinal chemistry. He has participated in and led numerous national and international research projects.
His scientific interests lie in applying computational and analytical approaches to characterize the biophysicochemical properties of xenobiotics. He is particularly focused on the concept of biomimetic chromatography and its application in predicting complex pharmacokinetic and toxicokinetic properties, enhanced by machine learning techniques. Additionally, his current work explores data-driven machine learning methods to predict the behavior and interactions of nanomaterials with biointerfaces in the context of toxicological and pharmaceutical applications.
