The Journal of AOAC INTERNATIONAL is a scholarly, peer-reviewed journal owned by AOAC INTERNATIONAL, a nonprofit, professional association representing scientists world-wide dedicated to the field of analytical science. First published in 1915 the Journal is a print and online publication.
The volunteer Editor-in-Chief (EIC) is responsible for growing the Journal into a definitive resource within the research and analytical communities. The successful candidate will have an appreciation of recent innovations and challenges in scholarly publishing and a vision for how the Journal will thrive. To achieve this goal, the EIC must ensure the scientific excellence of the content and the integrity of the peer-review process. To that end, EIC responsibilities include:
The EIC will hold an ex officio position on the AOAC Editorial Board.
Applicants are invited from the AOAC membership in good standing who have an accomplished scientific career, appropriate editorial experience, strong leadership qualities, and a vision for the future of the Journal. A history of reviewing for and publishing in scientific journals is required. Prior editorial experience is desired.
The term of service for this position is 3 years with an overlapping period with the current EIC to ensure a smooth transition of responsibilities. An annual stipend will be provided.
