Dr. Tomasz Tuzimski is a professor in Department of Physical Chemistry, Chair of Chemistry at Faculty of Pharmacy, Medical University of Lublin. Prof. Tuzimski received an MA degree and PhD degree (in 1995 and 2002, respectively), and Doctor of Sciences (habilitation) degree (in 2012) at the Faculty of Pharmacy, Medical University of Lublin, Poland.

Prof. Tuzimski obtained the position of university professor (Prof. MUL) in July 1, 2020, the title of professor (February 26, 2021), and the position of professor (April 1, 2021). His scientific interests include the theory and application of liquid chromatography, taking into considerations optimization of chromatographic systems for separation and quantitative analysis of analytes in multicomponent mixtures, modern extraction techniques (e.g., QuEChERS); detection techniques (DAD, FLD, MS, MS/MS); method development and validation; optimization of chromatographic systems for separation and quantitative analysis of xenobiotics (currently bisphenols in amniotic fluid samples collected during amniocentesis) and others (multicomponent mixtures) in food (food safety), environmental and biological samples.

Prof. Tuzimski has actively participated in numerous scientific symposia, where he presented his research results as oral presentations and poster presentations on international meetings and national scientific symposia. He has published 133 research papers (including conference papers and editorials; books and books chapters).

Prof. Tuzimski is recipient of two grants from Polish Ministry of Science and Higher Education (2005-2008 and 2009-2011) for the study and procedure implementation of new methods of analysis of pesticides in original samples (e.g., water, medicinal herbs, wines, food) with application of modern extraction (QuEChERS) and analytical methods combined with diode array scanning densitometry (and mass (MS) or tandem mass spectrometry (MS/MS)).

Prof. Tuzimski has reviewed 600 submitted research manuscripts and is a member of the editorial board of Acta Chromatographica, Molecules, International Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health, and Journal of AOAC INTERNATIONAL. He taught analytical and physical chemistry exercises with second-year students of the Faculty of Pharmacy. He also was instructor in post graduate chromatographic courses for scientific research staff from Polish universities and workers from industry.

Prof. Tuzimski participates in the panels of experts (AOAC, mandate from 2016 to 2020, and from 2021 to currently) in the USA to develop new analytical methods; including determination (qualitative and quantitative analysis) of food allergens and Bisphenol A.

Prof. Tomasz Tuzimski is one of the most recognisable Polish young scientists. His scientometric parameters (Hirsch index H = 19 for 91 impact publications and 1489 citations (1169 without self citations (March 10, 2022) give guarantees for suitable and required scientific position in the future.
