January 2022 Update: The migration of OMA content to Oxford University Press will be completed later in 2022. Stay tuned!
AOAC signed a new publishing partnership with Oxford University Press (OUP), a department of the University of Oxford that creates high-quality academic and educational resources and services and makes them available across the world. Beginning in January 2022, content for the Official Methods of AnalysisSM will be hosted on the Oxford Academic Platform, which will provide improved discoverability of OMA content and optimized usage and citations, among other benefits.
“This is a new era of publishing for AOAC, and the AOAC Publications team is excited to partner with OUP,” said Jennifer Diatz, AOAC’s Director of Publications. “The next few years will be a growth experience for the OMA, not only for our readership but for our subscribers. As part of the scholarly community, OUP will help to ensure that high-quality research is as widely circulated as possible in order to support education, research, and scholarship. OUP has vast resources that will enable the OMA to reach a much larger community, furthering visibility not only for the compendium of methods but also for AOAC.”
Other benefits of the partnership include visibility through strategic marketing, communication through society advertising in print and online, and a reach into global markets.
OUP will provide a full range of services for AOAC members and subscribers, including user-friendly online access to the OMA, exclusive online features and functionality, and discounts on OUP books.
OUP has an in-depth understanding of the global markets and has teams across the world that understand and meet the needs of each specific market, helping to broaden the audience of the OMA.
AOAC’s publishing partnership with OUP began in January 2020, with the Journal of AOAC INTERNATIONAL.
OMA subscribers will learn more details about the transition later this year.
