The newly accredited Salmonella Swab PT Program (SS01) enables participating laboratories to verify and report the presence or absence of salmonella, along with O & H antigen results and species identification when applicable.

Each sample set includes four swabs—a mix of inoculated samples and uninoculated controls—providing a realistic, hands‑on assessment environment that supports both accreditation needs and internal quality programs.

This program is widely used across the industry for:

  • Accreditation support — helping labs meet regulatory and ISO/IEC 17025 expectations
  • GFSI certification alignment — including SQF, FSSC 22000, BRC, and other schemes
  • Staff training — reinforcing competency with real‑world scenarios
  • Internal performance verification — ensuring ongoing reliability and consistency

The result is a trusted, high‑value tool that laboratories rely on to demonstrate capability, maintain compliance, and strengthen their overall food safety programs.

The deadline for the next round of this new program is Friday, October 2, 2026.
