The Asia Pacific Food Analysis Network (APFAN) and the AOAC South West Pacific (AOAC SWP) Section in association with the University of the South Pacific (USP) Centre for Sustainable Futures and the Chemical Society of the South Pacific (CSSP) will hold the APFAN PT5 Workshop / AOAC SWP Annual Meeting in Suva, Fiji, September 8-10, 2025. They have a Call for Abstracts due Monday, June 30, 2025. This international workshop has the theme “Building Sustainable Food Analysis Capacity in the Asia Pacific – Enhancing Global Comparability”.

– Nutrient value of indigenous/local foods
– Trade and safety issues with traditional food systems

Capacity Building Initiatives in the Asia Pacific
– The Pacific Quality Infrastructure Initiative (PQII)
– AOAC and methods harmonisation

Discussion of PT5 Results
– Statistical analysis of PT results
– Distribution of the PT6 Materials
