Keynote Speaker – Jeremy ‘Todd’ Reed
Jeremy “Todd” Reed assumed the role of Acting Deputy Administrator for Science and Policy at the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) in the Office of the Administrator in March 2026. In this role, Reed provides leadership and oversight for the agency’s scientific and policy functions in support of FSIS’s strategic mission and goals. Reed also serves as the chief operating officer (COO) at FSIS, a role he’s held since February 2018. In that role, Reed is responsible for oversight of strategic planning, human resources, technology and data, training, internal and external communications, and continuity of operations.
As COO, Reed works to streamline, modernize, and create efficiencies for agency systems, processes, and enhance data transparency with a focus on customer service. Before this role, Reed was the senior advisor for data integration and food defense at FSIS. He was responsible for providing vision, expertise and guidance on data analysis, advanced analytics, performance metrics, laboratory sampling, alerts and data extraction.
Reed joined FSIS in 2010 and has also served as the team lead and branch chief in the Analytical Design Branch of the Data Analysis and Integration Staff. Reed studied Chinese, mathematics, and political science, and has a Bachelor of Arts Degree in interdisciplinary studies with an emphasis in Chinese language and Chinese history. Reed also holds a Master of Arts Degree in political science.
Harvey W. Wiley Award Winner – Dr. Brendon Gill
Dr. Brendon Gill is the recipient of the 2026 Harvey W. Wiley Award, the Association’s highest honor for lifetime scientific achievement. Gill is a principal research scientist at the Fonterra Nutritionals Laboratory in Waitoa, New Zealand, where he’s worked for over 20 years. He is renowned for his work developing methods for measuring vitamins and micronutrients in infant formula. He will speak on “Advancing Analytical Chemistry in Dairy and Nutrition.”
