Director-at-Large, 2021 – 2022

Dr. Evan Chaney is the Director of Food Safety Microbiology within the Research and Technical Services team at Diamond V, a Cargill Health Technologies company. In his current role, Dr. Chaney is responsible for the global management of laboratory partnerships, analytical method selection and research projects to support Diamond V’s pre-harvest food safety initiatives in food animal agriculture. Dr. Chaney is a graduate of Texas Tech University where he completed a BS in General Microbiology, MS in Food Science and a PhD in Animal Science, both with an emphasis in food safety microbiology under Dr. Mindy Brashears. Prior to joining Diamond V, Dr. Chaney worked for Roka Bioscience where he led customer applications and method validation studies. His expertise lies in applied pre- and post-harvest food safety microbiology and rapid method applications across various segments of the greater food industry. He has been an active member of AOAC for five years and served on the AOAC Research Institute’s former Board of Directors.
